Almost Gypsy Soul

so my dirty clothes baskets sit behind the door in my closet therefore, I throw piles of clothes on the floor in my room and that is not conducive to trying to keep a clean room. (I'm trying to keep a clean room for some odd reason). So, I get this bright idea to buy a nice (and cute) laundry hamper for out IN my room, so I pull out the Google machine and get to shopping. I found TONS of  a few cute laundry hampers that I would love to have be ok with in my room. Except they carried a price tag of $60-100 bucks! After I ranted about how I would never, ever spend $100 bucks on a laundry hamper, I decided that Pinterest would probably better fit my needs....... where I found this...... and proceeded to spend $100 "making" my own laundry hamper. Strangely enough, I'm ok with my $100 laundry hamper....because its a badass laundry hamper...and I'm officially old because I'm excited about a badass laundry hamper.

the highlight of your summer is getting a new sprinkler system, a deck, central air and some grass planted so there aren't puppy paw prints all over this house in the fall. And so any headway that I made on that ole' savings goa l I set a while back....well it can be viewed in my backyard from a cool house and probably doesn't really count as a checkmark. Work got in the way of my summer in a big way this year. I did manage (with lots of help and cash outlays) to get the sprinkler system, air conditioner and a deck installed. Up for next summer is planting grass and finishing the steps for the deck (assuming that I don't get them done this fall)....which I didn't. Even without the stairs, I'm sure enjoying the new deck and I've got a plan for completing the backyard this summer! Stay tuned for final, final pictures!

If you remember my warning to the young grasshoppers about wanting to fast forward their lives to "big kid" life. Well here is the product of big kid life. Gotta keep that place of employment exciting and rewarding. This is how ya do it! This is going to be a traveling trophy so each office that wins it will get to display this beaut in their office for 365 days and of course rub everyone else's face in their NAP shortcomings. And the winner(s) this year is............ A TIE! The Lincoln County office and Sweetwater/Sublette County office (that's my office!!!) tied at 15 Exhibit 21s for the 2012 crop year. You can read about my first house here . The laundry room was pretty much the last priority on the list, but when Momma came up to help finish up a few projects, we got this one tackled on a whim. I had gotten an extra cabinet from when we remodeled my kitchen because they sent the wrong color. Because my laundry room is on the smaller side, I needed some extra room to fold my laundry. I already had my washer and dryer so that saved me a lot of money. I completed this room for about $200 (most of this was carpet). I had to use the carpet because the concrete floor had settled and was too uneven for tile or laminate. Here is my new and improved laundry room! If anyone wants to come try it out it seems as I always have an overflowing laundry shoot!

It was a little late, but that is about par for the US government these days, they can't get anything done, much less on time. For my birthday, Congress and President Obama gave me and the rest of American sequestration , mandating billions in cuts, 85 billion to be split between defense and some domestic programs. So my birthday present from the President? Extra days off!!!!!!! Granted they are without pay and in fact, I get to pay them for furlough days by picking up the whole tab on heath insurance......but lets not think about that part, it depresses me. While the initial thought behind sequestration was to make it so horrible and detrimental to our economy that it would force Democrats and Republicans to work together to come up with a compromise to avoid a fiscal cliff, by decreasing the budget and decreasing our debt. We have new paint, trim, carpet and hardware in this room. It flooded in the Swimming Pool installation project of 2011 so some things were dried out and upgraded at that time. The color scheme in this room is a metallic copper accent wall with cream colored walls and snowy white trim. Accent colors are found on the bed, curtains and refurbished dress all decked out in sage green. If you come and visit me, this is where you will get to stay. Fancy huh!?

All you kids out there, listen up! This is what you have to look forward to in life after college. Don't get me wrong the paycheck and leave days are nice, but there just isn't the excitement that there was in everyday college life to be found in everyday "big kid" life. According to the guys who have lived around here their whole lives, and their fathers before them, and their fathers before them.....last year was one of the worst droughts in the last 60 years. As we look back on it and look towards 2013....we might top last years drought this year. Boo! FSA offers a program acronymed NAP (Non-insurable assistance program). NAP is a catastrophic insurance plan that is available for crops that aren't covered by traditional crop insurance such as grass hay and grazing, my 2 biggest crops in my 2 counties. I moved to Rock Springs and bought my first house in 2009! Exciting, I can pick my own paint colors. I bought my house in foreclosure and it had a few projects (and a few that I wasn't expecting). It definitely a work in progress and I'll blog about each room as I get it finished. Fair warning, I'm not that great at finishing projects so some of them might be closely followed with a 'my first sale' blog. And no, I don't see that coming too soon. This the the picture that I thought I had of the outside of my house.  See I told you I was bad at this picture thing......I thought that I might take one before work in the morning, but its super cold and all snowy and icy and I just don't think my house would look as joyful as it does when there is green grass and green trees.
