I heard this song on the radio last night and I couldn't get in the house fast enough to google the lyrics to track down this song. Enjoy!

she (I) looks good for 2 kids

and my first thought was "how about for 0 kids because these 2 call me Aunt.....do I look good for 0 kids?" These 2 and I spent Valentine's Day at the Crystal Classic in Green River, WY. We had a super busy day and its safe to say we were all worn out! The only difference is they got a nap, Aunt Jen did not. Miller Baby was asleep before we hit the Green River city limit sign and Little Boy made it about 7 miles. The Crystal Classic is a winter festival centered around an ice sculpting competition. This year the weather was amazing for the festival goers....not so much for the competitors. It was 55 degrees! We need winter to return! The Crystal Classic has so many activities that are good for the big kids and little kids alike. We started out the day with a little physical activity....the Frostbite 5K! I ran, pushing Miller Baby in the stroller while Little Boy rode his Strider bike. We did have to stop halfway for snack time, but we made the whole 3.1 miles in a l

Ask a herder #5

When Assistant Pack Leader came for Mountain States Circuit Finals rodeo this year, she wanted to visit sheep camp, so we went to visit one of my ranchers and he showed us the ropes of his multi-state, multi-county range sheep and cattle operation. Q: What is the oldest you will keep ewes? A: I keep older sheep than most people around here do because I have the set up to keep them in on better ground instead of going out into the desert. If they have good teeth and are raising lambs, I'll keep them until they are 7 or 8. Q: How often do you see the sheep? A: In the winter, I will see the sheep (and the herders) every 2-3 days. Winter range is about 100 miles from the ranch so its a pretty big trip, especially when we have to feed the sheep because I can't fit all the supplies into one pickup load. Q: After you cut the bucks out and make them into their own herd, do you have trouble with them fighting and hurting each other? A: Not too often, they are usually ti

I took the vacation of a lifetime this year! It all started with an extremely stressful day at work and a phone call from Military Friend asking if I wanted to go to Hawaii....within 24 hours the flights were booked! Military Friend, her parents and I spent 10 days in paradise.....Maui, Hawaii I've never really been to the beach, like where it was warm enough to actually get in the water....well more than a toe in the water! And so, In January I went from to this in less than 12 hours! Everyday we did something, but made sure to leave time for coffee while watching the sunrise and tanning in the afternoon/evening hours. Our first day, we got provisions and ate breakfast out. I made sure that I sampled the local delicacy and ordered SPAM for breakfast. A bit salty, but not too bad. Stay tuned for updates on what I think you should do when you visit Maui!

Pay it forward

Image
If you remember back when I decided to join the Pay It Forward movement I got at least 5 comments and consequently 5 chances to pay it forward, to make someone's day with a surprise gift. So I've been working on this post for about over a year to share with you what I thought these people would most love getting in the mail from me! #1 Fellow blogger and OSU alumni, Amy - If you guys don't know Amy you are missing a gem. Check out her blog and get to know her a little better! I followed accounts of her proposal, engagement and am looking forward to the accounts of her wedding day....both from her and Football Fan. She lost her dad in a car accident in 2011 and I know she might miss him a little extra on her way down the aisle. So for her pay it forward, I thought she might like a bouquet charm so that her dad could be with her on her wedding day. Congratulations on your wedding Amy, I wish you forever happiness! # 2 Fellow blogger and OSU alumni, Tiffany - Tiffany

the barn by bryan [February 2015]

If you don’t mind I would like to take a little walk down memory lane this February. With today’s hit-or-miss music, it’s hard to beat the “classics” from the 80’s and 90’s. And don’t worry, I’ll throw in a red dirt favorite too. Here we go… Fool Hearted Memory; King, George Strait Much too Young…; Garth Brooks Meet Me in Montana; Dan Seals and Marie Osmond High Cotton; Alabama The Road Goes on Forever… And the Party Never Ends; Robert Earl Keen  Enjoy! My apologies for being late.....again.
