the best thing about Hawaii??? There is SO much to do! and do we did! We were some very busy vacationers and it was a blast! Picture overload coming.....Hawaii is easier to see than to describe. Paddleboarding - I took a swim off mine first thing, but we sure had fun on them. They weren't too challenging and we saw tons of sealife. My favorites were the school of flying fish and the huge sea turtles!  Snorkeling - we snorkeled right outside our condo, off our kayaks and went to Black Rock in Lahina too. Snorkeling scared the crap out of me at first, but once I got the hang of it, and realized I could breathe it was really fun! Kayaking - with whale watching and snorkeling. Hiking and beach walks - We went for sunrise walks on the beach to check out the area. We hike to Iao Needle at a State Park and the blowhole....which wasn't blowing but still had beautiful scenery.  Zip & Dip - a really fun ziplining experience with EcoAdventures! ...

Its 80 degrees in January and with a view like this...... who wouldn't want to spend an afternoon at the golf course??? And they all have golf specials for tourists. SCORE! It was a great day to play some golf. I'll for sure make sure to play again next time I'm in Hawaii.

Everyone goes to Maui in January for one main reason.....humpback whales! Whale watching is a must in Maui....in fact we went 3 times and that isn't counting venturing out onto our balcony each morning to sit and drink our coffee. 1. Pacific Whale Foundation, Maalea Bay  - this trip was perfect for those that don't like the water or are a little iffy about venturing too far from land. We went on the 630 am trip, which I highly recommend because there aren't near as many people. There were approximately 50 people on our boat that usually holds upwards of 100. And I'm not sorry that I don't have any good whale pictures...I was too busy watching whales to attempt mediocre cell phone shots of the whales! 2. Captain Steve's Whale Watching, Lahina - yep go here....its on a motorized rubber raft and he zips around getting lots of close encounters. We had many, many whales approach our boat, swim under it and it was awesome! There were about 35 people on ou...

I took the vacation of a lifetime this year! It all started with an extremely stressful day at work and a phone call from Military Friend asking if I wanted to go to Hawaii....within 24 hours the flights were booked! Military Friend, her parents and I spent 10 days in paradise.....Maui, Hawaii I've never really been to the beach, like where it was warm enough to actually get in the water....well more than a toe in the water! And so, In January I went from to this in less than 12 hours! Everyday we did something, but made sure to leave time for coffee while watching the sunrise and tanning in the afternoon/evening hours. Our first day, we got provisions and ate breakfast out. I made sure that I sampled the local delicacy and ordered SPAM for breakfast. A bit salty, but not too bad. Stay tuned for updates on what I think you should do when you visit Maui!
